this opening bit of the rooftop scene is heartwrenching
he’s unraveling and falling apart
i love that he’s unafraid to show sherlock this fragility though
who else could he possibly turn to in this despair?
sherlock is where he goes to for comfort
even when sherlock is the direct cause of the pain that requires comforting in the first place
heartbroken and disappointed as he is
sherlock is still the only person he could allow this before
sherlock is the only person to him period
and even as he sits here thinking him as ordinary as the rest of them that still doesn’t change
even when he’s a disappointment he’s the one who got the closest
